# Privacy and your files

Which tools keep your file in your browser and which send it to the server, how long shared files last, and what the site's analytics record.

**Read the privacy policy:** https://www.razi.pro/privacy-policy

## Tools that keep your file in your browser

Many tools do all their work on your own device. Your file or text never leaves your browser.

Examples:

- **Text and code:** JSON formatter, diff checker, Base64, URL encoder, JWT decoder, fake data generator, markdown converter.
- **Everyday utilities:** QR code generator, percentage calculator, colour palette generator.
- **PDF and images:** PDF to images, images to PDF, background remover.

One exception: if a tool lets you load a file from a web address instead of from your device, such as the background remover or the image compressor, the server fetches that address for you.

The statement converter also reads your statement in the browser. Only if you press "Extract with Universal AI" does it send the text it read, and the file name, to the server.

## Tools that send your data to the server

Some jobs need a server, so these tools send what you give them:

- **AI writing and images:** email drafter, text generator, blog generator, AI humanizer, prompt lab, SQL builder, image generator, sticker maker.
- **Media:** image compressor, video compressor, video to MP3, video to GIF, vocal separator, image to text (OCR), split image.
- **PDF:** PDF merge, PDF split, PDF compress.
- **Web pages you name:** SEO analyzer, screenshot, website metadata. The server visits the address you enter.
- **Links and accounts:** URL shortener, PeerDrop upload mode, storage explorer, YouTube Studio.

## How long files are kept

- **Files you share as a link** are deleted 7 days after upload. The file share page shows this next to the upload box.
- **Videos over 5MB in the video compressor** go through the file-sharing upload service first, so they follow the same 7-day rule. The share buttons in the video and image compressors create 7-day links too.
- **Short links** have no expiry date.

## Who can see a file you share as a link

Anyone who has the link can download the file.

If you upload without signing in, the file also appears in the "Recent Uploads" list on the file share page, which shows the 10 newest anonymous uploads to every visitor. If you are signed in, the file is listed under "Your Files", which only you see.

If a file is private, sign in before you upload it, or use PeerDrop direct mode instead.

## PeerDrop: direct mode and AI agents

In direct mode, nothing is uploaded. Files and messages go straight from one device to the other. The server only introduces the two browsers and never sees what you send. The link or QR code carries its pairing key in a part of the address that is never sent to the server.

Chatting with an AI agent is different. An agent is a program connected over the site's API, not another browser, so your messages and files pass through the server. They are streamed, not stored. PeerDrop tells you when this is the case.

## What the site's analytics record

The [privacy policy](https://www.razi.pro/privacy-policy) lists four analytics services: PostHog, Vercel Web Analytics, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.

According to the policy, analytics record which pages you visit, what you click, how far you read, and errors you run into. They never record the text you type into a tool, the files you upload, or your email address. Session replays mask every piece of on-screen text and every form field.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, the site does not load PostHog, Microsoft Clarity or Google Analytics at all.

When you sign in with Google, the site receives your name, email address and profile picture.

## Deleting your files, links or account

There is no delete button for shared files or short links. Your profile shows them, but it cannot remove them.

Shared files delete themselves after 7 days. To remove something sooner, or to delete your account and its data, email hi@razi.pro, as the [privacy policy](https://www.razi.pro/privacy-policy) explains.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do my files get uploaded when I use a tool?

It depends on the tool. Formatters, encoders, calculators, the QR code generator, PDF to images, images to PDF and the background remover work in your browser. Media, PDF merge, split and compress, and AI tools send your input to the server.

### How long does a shared file stay online?

Seven days from upload. After that a nightly clean-up deletes it and the link stops working.

### Can other people see files I upload?

Anyone with the link can download the file. Files uploaded without signing in also appear in the Recent Uploads list on the file share page. Signed-in uploads are listed only for you.

### Does PeerDrop store my files?

Not in direct mode. Files go straight between the two devices. When you chat with an AI agent, files and messages pass through the server, streamed and not stored.

### How do I stop analytics tracking me?

Turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser. The site then does not load PostHog, Microsoft Clarity or Google Analytics. You can also block cookies in your browser settings.

### How do I delete a shared file or my account?

There is no delete button. Shared files are removed after 7 days. For anything sooner, or to delete your account, email hi@razi.pro.
